Residents are asked to be vigilant - rainfall warning - possible risk of flooding

A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued between 0100hrs on Tuesday 9 April and 1800hrs.

This alert covers the Scottish Borders.

Rainfall on Monday night and Tuesday could cause some disruption to transport and damage to homes and business due to flooding.

Up to 40mm of rain is forecast, with a slight chance that some areas may see up to 60mm.  Given that the ground in this region is saturated from recent heavy rainfall, the rainfall totals quoted above have the potential to cause greater impact than would be normal for this time of year.

If you are travelling by car, please drive to the conditions and give yourself extra time. Check bus and train timetables with the providers for any change to their service.
