The Met Office has a yellow weather warning for rain in place throughout Tuesday and into Wednesday which affects large parts of the Borders. Warning runs from 9am on Tuesday to 8am on WednesdayWarning area covers central and eastern Borders, including Galashiels, Selkirk and Hawick and all areas to the east of theseIn some places up to 40mm of rain could fall, on already saturated groundBe prepared for rain and floodingMore information An area of rain arriving from the west early on Tuesday is expected to become slow-moving and persistent across the area, eventually clearing southeast in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Much of the warning area is expected to see 10-20 mm of rainfall during this time, and in some places, particularly east facing areas of higher ground, 30-40 mm is likely, which could lead to some flooding.
