Weather warning update


The amber weather warning for wind ended at 6am, however the yellow weather warning for wind remains in place until 12noon.

Information and updates will continue to be provided at www.scotborders.gov.uk/severeweather during the morning.

Schools and school transport

All schools are expected to open as normal, however some school transport routes may be impacted. School transport updates can be found on our dedicated webpage.

Roads information

Please note that in addition to the roads listed below many other routes may also be impacted and that there is a risk of debris on all routes. 

The latest trunk road and travel information can be found on the Traffic Scotland website - please note this currently advises of closures of the A68 at Jedburgh and the A1 north of Cockburnpath.

  • B712 at Dawyck closed to flooding
  • D1/3 Craik Road closed to flooding
  • B6400 at Nisbet closed to flooding
  • Wilton Park Road, Hawick closed to flooding
  • B709 Ettrick Valley closed to flooding
  • B6399 closed 5 miles from Newcastleton due to fallen tree
  • A1107 north of Coldingham closed due to fallen tree
  • Other travel information

    All Borders Railway services are cancelled on Monday.

    Forecast

    Winds will gradually ease from the west during Monday morning. Some gust of 50 to 60mph are possible inland with a few locations, mainly exposed coastal areas, experiencing gusts of 70 to 80mph.
