Yellow weather warning

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain for Tuesday

Key Information:

The warning area covers central and western parts of the Scottish Borders including Hawick and Peebles

Warning runs from 10am to midnight

Up to 40mm of rain is expected widely

Some locations could see as much as 60mm by the end of the day

Risk of isolated flooding of roads and the possibility of delays due to accidents

Rain is expected to arrive from the south during Tuesday morning, turning heavy at times during Tuesday afternoon.

The most persistent and heaviest rain is most likely, but not exclusively, to be on south-facing high ground.
