Alert message sent 09/02/2021 07:39:00

Information sent on behalf of Scottish Borders Council

Good morning Citizen

In line with the current yellow weather warning for snow a number of areas of the Borders have been affected overnight by snow. More snow showers are expected throughout the day.
Please note the A68 is currently closed at Fala due to overturned vehicles, while the A1 is affected by snow and a collision at Torness. Please check the Traffic Scotland website for the latest trunk road information and listen to Radio Borders for local road updates.
SBC snowploughs and additional resources are operating across our primary road network and will move on to the secondary network as and when conditions and resources allow. The snow is likely to impact on some services, including waste and recycling collections. For information on SBC’s winter services, included arrangements for missed bins, visit www.scotborders.gov.uk/winter
In accordance with COVID-19 restrictions please only travel if your journey is essential.
