Be aware of flood risk this weekend

Alert message sent 19/02/2021 13:45:00

Information sent on behalf of Scottish Borders Council

Please be aware that weather warnings for rain are in place for the western half of the Scottish Borders through until the early hours of Sunday morning.

Heavy and at times persistent rain is forecast, with some significant rainfall quantities possible.

Due to the saturated ground conditions this is expected to result in surface water flooding and high river levels.

SEPA has issued a flood alert for the Scottish Borders and it is anticipated that flood warnings will be issued for a number of watercourses during the coming days.

Please check the SEPA website for information, and to sign up for free flood alerts relevant to your property.

Details of sandbag stores can be found on the SBC website.
